Senior Petroleum Consultant

About the role

Velcrion Strategic Consulting is looking for a Senior Petroleum Consultant to join its Riyadh team on a part‑time, project‑based basis. The role supports consulting projects across the GCC and the broader Middle East, delivering research‑driven insights on energy markets, petroleum policy, and regulatory developments.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth research and analysis of energy and petroleum policies, regulatory frameworks, and industry strategies in Middle Eastern markets.
• Provide technical and strategic advisory support for upstream projects, including exploration, development, and production.
• Assess the impact of policy, regulatory, and institutional changes on oil & gas investments and market conditions.
• Monitor government energy policies, sector reforms, and major industry developments relevant to clients.
• Prepare client‑focused reports, policy briefs, market analyses, presentations, and workshop materials.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in petroleum, oil & gas, energy consulting, policy research, or a related field.
• Strong familiarity with GCC and broader Middle East energy markets and regulatory environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Reservoir Engineering, Energy, Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline.
• Proven ability to conduct independent research, synthesize complex information, and deliver clear, actionable insights.
