Senior Planning Engineer

About the role

The Senior Planning Engineer will develop, maintain, and optimise complex project schedules for alfanar Building Systems in Riyadh. You will lead collaboration with project teams, define scope, estimate timelines and allocate resources while monitoring progress and managing risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and obtain approval for baseline programmes using Primavera P6, including WBS, activity coding, logic, calendars and resource/cost loading.
• Lead site planning activities such as weekly look‑ahead schedules, monthly updates, recovery and acceleration programmes, and subcontractor coordination.
• Monitor project progress, prepare S‑curves, SPI/CPI reports, manpower histograms and productivity reports.
• Prepare monthly progress reports and client/consultant reporting packages and present updates in project meetings.
• Support commercial team with progress data for interim payment applications and variation pricing.
• Manage project delays, maintain delay register, conduct Time Impact Analyses and prepare documentation for EOT claims.
• Develop and monitor procurement, submittal, shop‑drawing and material delivery schedules aligned with the construction programme.
• Provide planning data for corporate PMO dashboards and ensure compliance with ABS planning standards.

Required profile

• Ability to continuously update technical and soft skills related to planning and project control.
• Proven problem‑solving capability and ability to escalate complex operational issues.

Required skills

• Expert‑level proficiency in Primavera P6 (Professional or EPPM).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, lookup functions, large‑data handling; Power Query a plus).
• Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Power BI or equivalent dashboarding tools.
• Microsoft Project.
• Document control platforms such as Aconex, ACC/BIM 360, SharePoint.
• Site data‑capture applications like AppSheet.
• AutoCAD or Bluebeam for drawing take‑offs.
• ERP experience (SAP or Oracle).
• Familiarity with 4D/BIM scheduling tools (Synchro, Navisworks) – optional.
