Senior Power System Planning Expert

About the role

Elia Grid International is seeking a senior expert to lead power system planning activities for large‑scale renewable and storage integration projects. The role combines technical analysis, client interaction, and project leadership in a fast‑growing international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and validate power system models and planning principles.
• Develop methodologies for integrating massive RES and BESS while optimizing transmission investments.
• Perform steady‑state (load flow, short‑circuit, hosting capacity) and dynamic stability analyses.
• Support grid reliability and security studies, including capacity calculations and operational planning.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to international clients.
• Supervise project teams, manage consultancy services, and assist business development.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in power system planning, transmission feasibility, and RES/BESS integration.
• Strong ability to translate complex data into strategic insights.
• Excellent oral presentation skills and fluency in English; Arabic is a strong asset.
• Team player with proven client‑facing experience.

Required skills

• Power system simulation tools: PowerFactory, PSSE.
• Fundamental knowledge of power system economics.
