Senior Project Engineering Manager - Substation EPC

About the role

GE Vernova is looking for a Senior Project Engineering Manager for its SEC2 BULK program in Dammam. The role drives engineering design, supplier deliverables, stakeholder interfaces and site execution for a critical substation scope and EPC interfaces, ensuring power infrastructure is delivered reliably, safely and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering design and compliance with local regulations, contracted codes and technical standards, and manage planning, progress measurement and timely deliverable releases to the Owner and EPC partners.
• Act as the primary technical interface for substation OEMs, local suppliers and project stakeholders, resolving technical queries and enforcing quality control across subcontracts.
• Perform technical risk assessments, support project management with data for Extensions of Time and claims, and help planning teams implement recovery plans for delays.
• Support field execution and commissioning, providing engineering support for installation and clarifying technical points to local suppliers.
• Promote a proactive EHS and stop-work culture across engineering and site activities.
• Document lessons learned and return of experience to improve future project close-outs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of professional experience in engineering of power, grid or substation systems.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and validating engineering design packages (drawings, calculations, specifications).
• Fluent in Arabic and English, written and spoken.
• Experience on Saudi energy projects in a field or engineering capacity.
• Legal right to work in Saudi Arabia without company sponsorship or time restrictions.

Required skills

• Power, grid or substation engineering.
• Reviewing and validating engineering design packages.
• Preferred: knowledge of power conversion and storage disciplines, including balance-of-plant equipment.
• Preferred: direct interface with EPC partners and strong communication and dispute-resolution skills.
