Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civil and Building Works

About the role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor prepares all cost aspects of civil and building works projects, from inception to final account. The aim is to keep expenditure to a minimum and maximize revenue as early as possible without compromising the Employer/Subcontractor relationship.

Key responsibilities

• Handle contractual and commercial support and correspondence, including letter writing.
• Prepare backup documentation and justification for Client Instructions and interim valuations.
• Complete and submit monthly cost reconciliations, cost-to-complete reports and profitability projections within one week of the valuation submission.
• Place subcontracts on standard approved terms and templates, at amounts reflecting the allowable.
• Ensure subcontractors' interim applications are received on time, included in KCT applications and submitted on time to the Employer.
• Value and process subcontractor payment certificates no more than the application or the client certification, on time.
• Coordinate packages preparation and tendering procedures.
• Ensure all scope changes are covered by signed-off variation orders, with payment or deduction secured from the Client/Project Manager and back-to-back with the main contract.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of working experience, 5 years of relevant experience; 2 years in the GCC is a plus.
• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

Required skills

• Computer-based quantification, including CCS (Candy).
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Express).
• AutoCAD for quantity take-offs.
• Bill of Quantities preparation using standard methods of measurement.
• Principles of Measurement (International) 1979, NRM2, CESSMMIII, QSSM, QCS, FIDIC.
• SAP ERP functional skills are required.
