Senior Software Engineer

About the role

BisChat is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to shape the backend of its next‑generation messaging platform. You will work remotely with a lean, fast‑moving technical team to deliver secure, high‑performance communication services to a global user base.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable backend services and core application components.
• Architect new features, write production‑grade code, and ensure high standards of security and privacy.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and troubleshoot production incidents.
• Improve continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with product, design and cross‑functional teams in an agile environment.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer science, data structures, algorithms and systems design.
• Proven experience building production‑grade applications.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed systems and real‑time communication platforms.
• Knowledge of security best practices, privacy‑by‑design principles and performance optimisation for large‑scale apps.
• Comfortable working in a remote, cross‑functional, fast‑paced team.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
