Senior Specialist – Destination Strategy & Planning

About the role

The Senior Specialist, Destination Strategy & Planning, supports the development and execution of the destination’s long‑term strategy, operating model and transformation initiatives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to define priorities, assess growth opportunities and monitor key initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and periodic refresh of the destination strategy, vision and strategic objectives, including market and competitive analysis.
• Develop strategic recommendations, business cases and scenario analyses to inform executive decision‑making and create roadmaps for transformation initiatives.
• Drive strategy execution through initiative tracking, governance frameworks, KPI development, performance dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
• Conduct destination demand analysis, visitor insights and benchmarking studies to generate actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with internal functions (Marketing, Partnerships, Experience, Development, Commercial, Corporate Strategy) and external consultants, government entities and industry partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Tourism or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 2‑5 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, transformation consulting, PMO, tourism, destination development or related sectors.
• Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
