Senior Steward – Stewarding

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Steward to lead the stewarding team at Jumeirah Jabal Omar, a luxury hotel located minutes from Masjid Al Haram in the Holy City of Makkah. The role ensures high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and efficient back‑of‑house operations across all food and beverage areas.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all stewards during assigned shifts, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance with Engineering.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in kitchen and F&B back‑of‑house areas.
• Inspect buffet set‑up and kitchen mise en place to meet prescribed quality.
• Conduct twice‑weekly inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Prepare requisitions for cleaning supplies and chemicals for approval by senior management.
• Control costs through breakage reduction, loss prevention, and efficient use of supplies.

Required profile

• Higher Secondary School certificate.
• Basic Food Hygiene and HACCP Principles certification.
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal) or preferred local language.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP principles.
• Ability to supervise and schedule staff.
• Inventory management of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
