Senior Transportation Systems Engineer – Rail Projects

About the role

DB Engineering & Consulting is seeking a Senior Transportation Systems Engineer to lead the design, integration, and commissioning of advanced metro and rail systems in Saudi Arabia. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that all system components meet contractual and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead review and approval of transit system designs, technical submittals, and interface documentation.
• Coordinate system integration across signalling/ATC, telecoms, rolling stock, traction power, platform screen doors (PSDs), SCADA, depot and station systems.
• Provide technical leadership during testing and commissioning activities, including FAT, SAT, integration tests, system demonstrations and trial runs.
• Monitor system‑level performance against RAMS targets, operational requirements and safety standards for automated metro operations.
• Participate in inspections, audits, NCR processes and quality‑assurance activities.
• Assess technical risks, interface issues and design changes, managing impacts on performance and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with PMCM teams, contractors, suppliers, O&M entities and employer stakeholders to resolve issues and align objectives.
• Prepare technical reports, system assessments, integration updates and progress documentation for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Systems or Railway Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in rail or metro transit systems engineering.
• Proven expertise in system integration, interface management and multi‑system automated metro environments.
• Strong knowledge of RAMS frameworks and safety standards such as EN 50126 and EN 50129.
