Servers & Storage Support – Backup Specialist

About the role

The Backup Specialist will ensure that all business‑critical data is regularly and securely backed up, enabling rapid recovery in case of system failures or IT disasters. This full‑time, onsite position involves daily administration of backup operations and close collaboration with the IT Systems Operations department.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily backup administration, reviewing logs, reports and alerts to guarantee data integrity.
• Manage backup types, storage policies, scheduled jobs and backup sets across enterprise environments.
• Execute full, incremental, differential and on‑demand backups and handle media import/export, housekeeping and off‑site storage.
• Restore files, system databases, applications and network drives as required by business continuity plans.
• Maintain security, reliability and availability of backup services while documenting procedures and generating reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in backup administration, storage management and disaster recovery.
• Strong understanding of backup policies, storage policies, schedules and industry best practices.

Required skills

• Experience with enterprise backup solutions and media management.
• Knowledge of full, incremental and differential backup and restoration processes.
• Proficiency in operating system, application and database restores.
• Ability to configure backup policies, storage policies and email alerts.
• Skill in reviewing backup logs, events, alerts and generating reports.
