Signaling Engineer (Systems)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Signaling Engineer (Systems) to collaborate with the Design‑Build contractor’s CBTC signaling team. The role focuses on delivering signaling solutions for large‑scale metro projects, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, performance targets, and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the DB contractor’s CBTC signaling team to ensure successful delivery of the signaling solution.
• Manage and monitor activities of signaling contractors and subcontractors, providing technical oversight and resolving critical installation and commissioning issues.
• Ensure signaling systems and associated interfaces are installed, tested, and commissioned according to approved designs and contractual requirements.
• Review construction drawings, shop drawings, and technical submissions for CBTC and fallback signaling systems.
• Assess subcontractor proposals for scope, capability, resources, experience, workforce competency, and equipment suitability.
• Evaluate method statements, installation, testing, and commissioning plans submitted by contractors.
• Monitor signaling system interfaces and integration with other railway systems, including platform screen doors.
• Prepare technical reports on installation, testing, and commissioning activities, including issue analysis and recommendations.
• Track project progress against schedule, budget, specifications, and performance requirements.
• Support project teams in resolving technical, contractual, and operational challenges related to signaling systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in CBTC signaling system installation, testing, and commissioning on large‑scale metro projects.
• Proven experience in rail signaling design, installation, system testing, commissioning, operations, and maintenance.
• Experience in consultant supervision and contractor management, including contractual administration and technical correspondence.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary and multinational project teams.

Required skills

• Rail industry‑recognized qualifications such as IRSE certification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Communication‑Based Train Control (CBTC), Automatic Train Control (ATC), and trackside signaling systems.
• Previous experience on GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) projects.
• Experience on metro, railway, or major transportation infrastructure projects.
