About the role
The Site Technical Manager will lead the technical delivery of facilities services across a marina and waterfront environment. Acting as the principal site‑based technical contact for the client, you will manage a team of inspectors and oversee electrical, mechanical, water and building‑services systems.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day technical operations and maintenance for marina, waterfront and associated facilities.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the client, providing updates on performance, risks, incidents and corrective actions.
- Direct and coordinate a site‑based team of inspectors, ensuring quality inspections, follow‑up and close‑out.
- Provide technical leadership across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, water systems, fire and life safety trades.
- Review preventive maintenance plans, method statements, risk assessments, permits and contractor submissions.
- Apply SFG20 (or equivalent) maintenance standards to asset schedules and statutory tasks.
- Oversee water hygiene and Legionella control, including risk assessments, tank management, flushing, temperature monitoring and testing.
- Monitor asset condition, recurring failures and compliance; recommend lifecycle and efficiency improvements.
- Lead technical investigations, support incident response, emergency works and business continuity.
- Ensure contractors meet KPIs, service levels, safety standards and quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate technical records, inspection reports, test results and management dashboards.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Significant experience in a Technical Manager, Engineering Manager or senior site‑based role.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical FM trades with ability to guide specialist teams.
- Proven experience leading inspectors, contractors and multidisciplinary technical operations on complex sites.
- Strong practical knowledge of planned maintenance, statutory compliance, asset management and service delivery.
- Working knowledge of SFG20 or equivalent maintenance standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in water hygiene and Legionella control aligned with L8 principles.
- Excellent client‑facing communication, reporting and problem‑solving skills.
