Social Development Specialist

About the role

The Social Development Specialist will design and deliver community‑focused initiatives that improve quality of life and strengthen participation in regional development. You will work closely with local partners, NGOs and government entities to identify needs and implement empowerment programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in shaping and reviewing the region’s social and community development strategy.
• Engage stakeholders to identify community needs and development opportunities.
• Conduct field research and social studies to understand challenges and priorities.
• Analyse social and demographic data to inform programme design.
• Design and launch new initiatives such as empowerment, volunteering and capacity‑building programmes.
• Coordinate with local partners, non‑profits and government bodies to improve community services.
• Support families and youth to access development opportunities.
• Develop creative content for community awareness campaigns.
• Contribute to regional events and key occasions.
• Stay updated on global social development practices and propose innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Community Development or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in social or community development, preferably within the non‑profit sector.
• Proven experience working with local communities and stakeholder groups.
