Social Worker – Abha, Saudi Arabia

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering comprehensive psychosocial assessments, counseling, and care coordination for residents, while ensuring culturally sensitive and ethical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide ongoing counseling and crisis intervention to residents and families.
• Lead or co‑facilitate family meetings and care conferences with the care team.
• Conduct advance care planning discussions and document living wills and durable powers of attorney.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans and align social work goals with medical and rehabilitation objectives.
• Assess and address social determinants of health such as housing, finances, transportation, and caregiver burden.
• Facilitate safe and timely discharge planning, including referrals to home health, skilled nursing facilities, or community programs.
• Link residents and families to community resources and financial assistance programs.
• Provide education on disease processes, treatment options, and available services.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
• Monitor and report risk factors such as elder abuse, exploitation, and safety concerns.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, accreditation processes, and staff education on psychosocial and cultural competence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid SCFHS license as a Specialist.
• Additional certifications such as clinical social work, geriatrics, dementia care, palliative/hospice social work, or Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred.
