Software Engineer – Python & Kubernetes

About the role

Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer – Python and K8s based in Saudi Arabia. This role offers the opportunity to build open source software that transforms how complex information systems are operated across public clouds and private infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain open source operations software using Python, focusing on reliable and scalable workloads on Kubernetes.
• Work across the Linux stack, including kernel, networking, storage, virtualization, containers, and applications.
• Develop solutions that improve reliability, automation, and operational efficiency of complex open source systems.
• Build and improve high‑quality monitoring and alerting infrastructure to support reliable production operations.
• Simplify the operation of open source technologies for customers and the broader community.
• Apply sound software architecture, testing, documentation, and quality practices throughout the development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, STEM, or a related technical field.
• Strong professional experience developing software with Python and solving technically challenging problems.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux systems administration, package management, and production operations.
• Practical experience with at least one public cloud platform.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes and an understanding of containerised application environments.
• Strong understanding of software reliability principles and a commitment to designing dependable systems.
