Sr. Business Development Associate

About the role

This senior business development position focuses on sourcing acquisition opportunities within the vertical software market. You will identify promising companies, build relationships with owners and senior executives, and create a pipeline of potential acquisitions across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new markets, industries, and software categories for future platform acquisitions.
• Research target companies and locate owners, CEOs, founders, and M&A advisors.
• Build and maintain relationships with software executives, investors, and industry contacts.
• Develop and communicate a compelling value proposition to prospective acquisition targets.
• Own Salesforce CRM activity, tracking outreach, follow‑ups, and opportunities.
• Establish effective business‑development workflows, tools, and best practices.
• Set and manage quarterly, monthly, and weekly BD targets for yourself and other resources.
• Consistently meet or exceed sourcing KPIs such as discovery conversations, qualified opportunities, and follow‑ups.
• Qualify opportunities at the top of the acquisition funnel to keep the M&A team focused on high‑potential prospects.

Required profile

• Minimum 36 months of relevant business‑development experience.
• Commercially driven professional who enjoys opening doors and influencing decision‑makers.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with M&A leadership.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
