Storage & Backup Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Storage & Backup Engineer – Associate Manager to lead storage and backup operations across a large enterprise environment in Riyadh. The role involves managing SAN storage, backup infrastructure, disaster‑recovery activities and ensuring high availability of critical business systems while providing technical leadership to a team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of storage and backup engineers.
• Manage and maintain enterprise storage platforms such as Dell EMC Unity, PowerMax, Isilon and Data Domain.
• Administer Veritas NetBackup environments, including policies, monitoring, troubleshooting, restores and reporting.
• Ensure backup jobs meet SLA requirements and oversee storage provisioning, LUN creation, replication, performance monitoring and capacity planning.
• Support disaster‑recovery initiatives, testing activities and backup restoration validation.
• Monitor infrastructure with SolarWinds and Dynatrace and collaborate with infrastructure, application, database and network teams.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and recovery plans.
• Participate in CAB meetings, governance reviews and service‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage incidents, requests, changes and asset records through ServiceNow.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in storage and backup administration.
• Hands‑on experience with Dell EMC Unity, PowerMax, Isilon and Data Domain.
• Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management and team‑leadership abilities.
• Experience planning and testing disaster‑recovery solutions in enterprise data‑center environments.

• Zerto replication.
• VMware or Hyper‑V virtualization.
• Azure and/or OCI cloud exposure.
