Strategic Communication Officer (EU Delegation)

About the role

The European Union Delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks a Strategic Communication Officer to support its Political, Press and Information Section. The role involves enhancing the EU’s visibility across Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain through media, speech‑writing and digital outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Delegation in planning and executing information, communication and media activities, including speech‑writing, to raise EU visibility.
• Develop and implement the Delegation’s social‑media strategy and produce proactive messaging aligned with EEAS guidelines.
• Monitor and analyse information‑environment trends, emerging narratives and foreign information manipulation in the three host countries.
• Design, coordinate and deliver campaigns, outreach events and communication projects on priority issues.
• Provide backup support for the Press and Information Officer and contribute to political reporting.

Required profile

• University degree in political science, communication, international relations, media, journalism or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in media, public relations, online publishing or similar after obtaining the degree.
• Excellent command of Arabic and English.
• Right to reside and work in Saudi Arabia and good standing as a citizen or resident.
• Medical fitness to perform the duties of the post.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract of two years with possible renewal subject to budgetary availability.
• Base salary starting from 20,473 SAR per month.
