Strategic Finance Intern

About the role

Lean Technologies is looking for a Strategic Finance Intern to join its FP&A team as it expands across multiple markets and product lines. You will work on real forecasting, budgeting and analysis that directly supports senior leadership decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain inputs to the monthly rolling forecast, pull actuals, compare against assumptions and flag divergences.
• Build scenario analyses from first principles for new market launches or product lines and present findings.
• Prepare one‑page summary of forecast outputs for non‑finance leaders.
• Collect and consolidate budget inputs, produce monthly variance analysis with top‑three drivers.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities in a selected cost category.
• Test AI‑enabled tools for FP&A automation and document results.
• Own the commercial deals tracker, reconcile with Sales and flag risky deals.
• Prepare sections of the monthly management report and run unit‑economics analyses.
• Research market opportunities, pricing, competitors and regulations, then present recommendations.

Required profile

• Final‑year student or graduate (within 12 months) in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or another quantitative field.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills; able to build driver‑based models from scratch.
• Demonstrated analytical initiative (model, investment pitch, case competition, research project).
• Clear written communication, able to explain numbers in plain language.
• Self‑starter who closes loops without being chased.
• Genuine curiosity about payments, open banking or fintech.
