Superintendent LQ & Helideck

About the role

The Superintendent LQ & Helideck is responsible for the overall construction and system integration of Living Quarters and Helideck on offshore rigs. The role provides onsite coordination for all phases of work, including material planning, subcontractor allocation and detailed scheduling, to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead hot‑works and cold‑works phases, including architectural outfitting, cable pulling and pipe‑system testing.
• Develop and execute the project build methodology and work closely with engineering and construction teams on strategy.
• Conduct clash studies with project and engineering teams prior to installation.
• Participate in creating project schedules with the Construction Manager and manage day‑to‑day construction activities.
• Coordinate material procurement and engage external vendors for timely equipment delivery.
• Provide progress reporting, schedule management and proactively flag performance issues.
• Run weekly coordination meetings with subcontractor foremen and distribute three‑week look‑ahead schedules.
• Design and maintain procedures and standard processes for Living Quarters and Helideck activities.
• Ensure compliance with shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig‑building certification requirements.
• Oversee delivery of Inspection Test Records (ITR’s) and remove blocks to meet target dates.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering (Technical Qualification); Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• Significant experience in offshore rig construction, project coordination and supervision.
• Strong knowledge of shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig‑building certification.
• Proven problem‑solving ability, decision‑making skills and readiness with contingency plans.
