Tax Accountant

About the role

The Tax Accountant will ensure full tax compliance and accurate reporting for SGS entities operating in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. This role supports corporate tax governance, VAT compliance, withholding tax, and statutory reporting in line with local regulations and SGS global policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with ZATCA (KSA) and Bahrain NBR requirements.
• Handle withholding tax calculations, filings, and reconciliations.
• Support corporate income tax and Zakat computations where applicable.
• Maintain accurate tax ledgers and post tax‑related journal entries.
• Perform monthly tax account reconciliations (VAT payable, WHT payable, etc.).
• Assist month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Monitor changes in KSA and Bahrain tax legislation and assess business impact.
• Provide guidance to finance and operational teams on tax implications of transactions.
• Support tax audits, assessments, and queries from tax authorities.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and maintain compliance files.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or CA preferred.
• 5‑10 years of tax or accounting experience in a multinational or large organization.
• Strong knowledge of KSA VAT (ZATCA) and Bahrain tax regulations.
• Experience in VAT, withholding tax and financial reporting.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• ERP system experience (SAP or Oracle).
