Technical Office Head – Wood & Joinery

About the role

One of the largest wood manufacturing factories in Saudi Arabia is looking for a Technical Office Head to lead its technical office, estimation, shop‑drawing and production‑preparation activities. The role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership of a team that supports furniture, wooden doors, kitchens, wardrobes and architectural joinery projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the technical office and estimation team, assigning priorities and ensuring timely quotations and technical submissions.
• Review enquiries, drawings, BOQs, specifications and contract requirements, and approve technical drawings and production packages before release.
• Supervise quantity take‑offs, costing, shop drawings, material submittals and cutting lists, guaranteeing accuracy of dimensions, materials, hardware, finishes and quantities.
• Coordinate workflows between sales, procurement, production, QC, projects and installation teams, and monitor quotation turnaround time.
• Conduct technical meetings with clients, consultants and contractors, manage RFIs, design changes and technical approvals.
• Lead site measurement activities, ensure alignment between drawings and actual site conditions, and support production planning.
• Drive improvements in drawing standards, costing accuracy, material optimisation and waste control.
• Train, evaluate and develop the technical‑office team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Wood Technology or a related engineering field.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in a furniture, wooden‑doors or joinery factory, including leadership responsibilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet strict quotation and production deadlines and resolve technical issues during manufacturing and installation.
• Strong communication, planning and problem‑solving skills, with a portfolio of previously managed joinery projects.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP, estimation or production software.
