Technical Support Engineer – Automotive After‑Sales

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer is the highest technical authority at the dealership, handling complex diagnostics, warranty escalations and OEM coordination. The role supports workshop supervisors and technicians to resolve advanced faults while ensuring compliance with OEM standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead diagnosis and resolution of complex, repeat or high‑priority technical cases escalated from the workshop.
• Apply structured diagnostic methodologies using advanced tools, OEM systems and technical documentation.
• Identify root causes, define corrective actions and document detailed case reports.
• Act as primary technical liaison with the OEM, managing recall campaigns, special service campaigns and field actions from identification to completion.
• Prepare and submit Technical Reports, Product Quality Reports and warranty escalation cases in line with OEM requirements.
• Coach technicians and electrical technicians on complex repairs, diagnostic strategies and new technologies.
• Conduct technical training sessions, workshops and toolbox talks to raise workshop capability.

Required profile

• Strong automotive technical background with experience in after‑sales service.
• Proven ability to analyse and resolve complex diagnostic issues.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with OEM technical support teams.
• Capability to coach and develop workshop staff.
