Technical Translator

About the role

WSP is looking for a Technical Translator to support its engineering and infrastructure projects in Jeddah. The role involves delivering high‑quality Arabic‑English translations of technical documents, ensuring terminology consistency across all project materials.

Key responsibilities

• Translate technical, engineering, contractual and project‑related documents between Arabic and English.
• Proofread and edit translated content to guarantee accuracy and compliance with project terminology.
• Provide interpretation and language assistance during meetings, workshops and client interactions when required.
• Maintain and update bilingual glossaries and terminology databases.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and specialists to ensure translations convey technical concepts correctly.
• Handle confidential project information with discretion and support document‑control teams as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages or a related field.
• 5‑8 years of professional translation experience, preferably in engineering, construction or infrastructure consultancy.
• Native‑level Arabic proficiency and excellent written and spoken English.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines.
• Prior experience working in the GCC region is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with translation tools.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.
• Arabic‑English translation expertise, especially for technical content.
