Test Engineer – Industrial Robotics

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to lead functional, performance and safety testing of robotic systems used in pipe coating, refinery and heavy‑industry applications. The role is based in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia and supports a US‑based client delivering advanced coating solutions for on‑shore and off‑shore pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and document test plans, procedures and protocols for electrical and mechanical components.
• Conduct functional, performance and safety testing of robotic subsystems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electro‑mechanical issues, providing feedback to design and integration teams.
• Maintain and improve test rigs, automated data‑acquisition systems and measurement setups.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Quality teams to resolve technical problems and ensure compliance with internal and industry standards.
• Participate in field trials and on‑site testing when required.

Required profile

• 7‑8 years of hands‑on testing experience on electro‑mechanical industrial equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Background in metal manufacturing, pipe coating, heavy engineering or related industrial sectors.
• Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to technical challenges.

Required skills

• Use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and DAQ tools.
• Experience with sensors, data loggers and test measurement equipment.
• Knowledge of wiring, circuit testing and electrical safety standards.
• Understanding of mechanical assemblies, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and system‑level issues.
