Therapy Area Medical Head

About the role

The Therapy Area Medical Head will shape and execute the medical strategy for a specific therapeutic area, ensuring alignment with global and regional objectives. This senior position leads a multidisciplinary medical team and collaborates closely with commercial, regulatory, and access functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Therapy Area Medical Strategy, including launch readiness, lifecycle management, and patient access plans.
• Translate strategic goals into an operational medical plan for the assigned country or cluster.
• Lead, mentor, and grow the Therapy Area Medical team (medical leads, MSLs, etc.).
• Maintain alignment with commercial, regulatory, and access strategies.
• Oversee medical information, evidence generation, and scientific exchange with external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance and regulatory standards.
• Provide medical insights to influence clinical practice and healthcare policy.
• Support and oversee clinical trials (Phase I–IV), investigator‑initiated studies, and non‑interventional studies.

Required profile

• MD, MBBS, PharmD or PhD in life sciences (MBA is a plus).
• More than 10 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Experience with specialty products and familiarity with the Saudi Arabian healthcare landscape.
• Significant leadership experience with a proven ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
