TMT/IP Partner - Riyadh

About the role

An international law firm is seeking a TMT/IP Partner to join its growing Riyadh office. This is a strategic senior hire offering the chance to build and lead a market-leading practice in one of the fastest-growing legal markets globally. The role focuses on advising clients on technology, media, telecommunications and intellectual property matters, with significant exposure to large-scale, innovative projects linked to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. A portable client base of at least £1.2 million is required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the firm's TMT and IP practice in Riyadh, developing client relationships and driving revenue growth.
• Advise clients on technology transactions, data protection, digital transformation, outsourcing and regulatory compliance.
• Provide strategic advice on IP matters such as licensing, brand protection, commercialization and IP strategy.
• Act on complex, high-value transactions including technology-driven M&A, joint ventures and commercial partnerships.
• Build relationships with government entities, multinational corporations and technology-driven businesses.
• Collaborate with regional and global teams on cross-border matters.
• Mentor and develop junior lawyers within the team.
• Contribute to the firm's Middle East growth strategy and business development.

Required profile

• Typically 10+ years' post-qualification experience in a leading international or top-tier firm.
• Strong expertise in TMT and/or IP, with a focus on commercial technology transactions and advisory work.
• Demonstrated track record of building client relationships and developing a practice.
• Portable client base or strong business case for building a practice in Riyadh.
• Experience advising on Middle East matters and a strong interest in the Saudi market is highly desirable.
• Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to operate at a senior strategic level.
