Urban Designer – Riyadh

About the role

AECOM is seeking a talented and visionary Urban Designer to join its Riyadh team. You will help shape vibrant, sustainable communities by creating innovative urban design concepts that respect local culture and enhance quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive urban design concepts and frameworks for residential, commercial, mixed‑use and public‑space projects.
• Conduct detailed site analysis and feasibility studies to inform strategic design recommendations.
• Create master plans, urban design guidelines and technical documentation aligned with sustainability principles and local regulations.
• Utilize advanced urban design software to produce visualizations, 3D models and technical drawings.
• Engage with clients, government agencies, municipal authorities and community stakeholders to understand requirements and present design solutions.
• Analyze demographic data, market trends, site conditions and local context to support informed decisions.
• Collaborate with landscape architects, transportation planners, sustainability consultants and other specialists.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi building codes, zoning regulations, municipal guidelines and Islamic urban design principles.
• Prepare clear, professional presentations of design concepts and project updates.
