Visual QC Inspector – Quality Control

About the role

The Visual QC Inspector is responsible for performing visual and final inspections on cast and forged parts, ensuring compliance with client specifications, internal procedures, and international standards such as EN, ISO, ASME and ASTM. The role works closely with the QC Engineer, production teams and quality staff to verify product quality before release.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out visual inspection of castings and forgings according to internal procedures, customer specifications and international standards.
• Perform critical dimensional inspections and verify markings, traceability and API 20A/20B records.
• Assist the QC Engineer in preparing ITPs and quality inspection standards.
• Maintain quality control documents, records and final‑inspection reports.
• Conduct special testing such as PMI and hardness surveys as required.
• Report deviations, rejections and non‑conformities to the QC Engineer or Manager.
• Verify effectiveness of internal and external NCRs.
• Support raw‑material inspection and NDE activities when needed.
• Ensure EHSS and housekeeping compliance in the inspection area.

Required profile

• ITI/Diploma/Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in steel casting visual inspection and quality control; forging experience is a plus.
• ASNT Level II Visual Inspection & ISO 9712 (preferred) and ASNT Level II MT/PT (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of ASME, ASTM, ISO and EN inspection codes.
• Ability to work in confined spaces or elevated positions and physically fit for fieldwork.

Required skills

• Visual inspection, magnetic particle testing (MT) and penetrant testing (PT).
• PMI testing and hardness testing using portable equipment.
• Dimensional inspection of castings and forgings.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings, inspection standards and test procedures.
• Understanding of MSS SP 55 and Scrata visual inspection methods.
• Knowledge of typical casting and forging defect types.
• Proficiency with MS Office for reporting.
