Accountant – Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance

About the role

Saudi Gold Refinery is seeking an Accountant in Riyadh to manage daily financial recording, reconciliation and tax compliance for its refining operations. The role supports the Finance Manager in delivering accurate financial statements, cost of refining and bullion inventory valuation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger by posting accurate journal entries for refining costs, bullion inventory movements and corporate expenses.
• Calculate and file monthly and quarterly VAT returns through the ZATCA portal in full compliance with Saudi tax laws.
• Reconcile physical bullion and dore inventory counts with system records and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations for cash, inventory and accrued liabilities.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and compute depreciation for plant equipment, laboratory instruments and corporate assets.
• Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Allocate refining costs (chemicals, energy) to production batches for accurate cost‑of‑goods‑sold reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in an industrial, manufacturing or trading environment.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi VAT regulations and experience filing VAT returns.
