Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate capture of supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring smooth processing of payables and supporting month‑end closing activities. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance and high‑quality financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Capture and process invoices and credit notes to ensure accurate accounting and timely month‑end closing.
• Validate accounting entries against correct nominal accounts.
• Reconcile and analyse relevant accounts, identifying and resolving any anomalies.
• Resolve disputes, queries, and discrepancies with internal and external parties within stipulated timelines.
• Assist the team lead with month‑end closing reviews, investigating balance movements and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Escalate critical issues to management after appropriate analysis and action.
• Provide support to internal and external customers by supplying required information and answering queries.
• Enhance customer experience through high‑quality deliverables, effective issue resolution, and structured communication.
