Airfreight Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for an Airfreight Team Leader to join DHL Global Forwarding in Riyadh. The role will drive the implementation of airfreight strategies, ensure operational excellence, and support the delivery of high‑quality service to our global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the execution of airfreight operations in line with business strategy, global guidelines and local regulations.
• Coach, train and supervise multiple teams to meet daily schedules, productivity and quality targets.
• Identify recurring issues, propose process improvements and monitor performance of suppliers.
• Ensure accurate capture of costs and revenues, support invoicing and manage profit‑loss variance.
• Maintain regulatory compliance for commodities and destinations, and support new business during hyper‑care phases.
• Act as escalation point for existing clients, drive customer retention and explore opportunities for business expansion.
• Monitor shipment data quality, resolve quality‑related incidents and ensure timely, accurate customer invoicing.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading airfreight or logistics teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills for internal coaching and external client interaction.
• Good understanding of airfreight regulations, cost structures and profitability drivers.
