Area Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Area Manager to lead a portfolio of retail stores within a defined geographic region. Reporting to the Brand Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales, profitability and operational excellence across all locations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and improve store performance against sales targets, profit goals and inventory metrics.
• Conduct territory and sales analyses, adjust strategies and implement brand-specific marketing and promotions.
• Ensure loss-prevention policies, shrink control and compliance with company standards.
• Visit stores regularly to audit pricing, merchandising, customer service and overall operations.
• Gather market intelligence on competitor actions and product launches.
• Manage financial aspects including budgeting, payroll, manpower cost and store profitability.
• Oversee opening of new stores and closure of under-performing locations.
• Plan manpower, handle promotions, transfers and disciplinary actions.
• Coach, motivate and develop store managers and their teams.
• Collaborate with the Brand Manager to create and adjust business plans.

Required profile

• 3-6 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in an area-manager, store-manager or similar role.
• Proven track record of achieving sales and profit targets in a retail environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Excellent leadership and people-management capabilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
