About the role
Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Asset and O&M Engineer to support the delivery of rail projects. You will work across the full project lifecycle, ensuring that operations and maintenance (O&M) requirements are defined, documented, and handed over effectively to the operator.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and propose O&M engineering budgets and operating cost estimates.
- Define and implement asset management strategies aligned with project schedules.
- Prepare O&M manuals, training plans, spare‑parts lists, special‑tool specifications, and pricing documents.
- Produce operational analysis, maintenance plans, condition‑based maintenance strategies, and obsolescence management plans.
- Coordinate design change requests and participate in design reviews with the Design‑Build team.
- Manage the handover process from design and construction to the operating team, ensuring all technical specifications and documentation are complete.
- Analyse performance data, conduct failure‑report analysis, and drive corrective actions.
- Support bidding, project delivery, and mobilization planning.

- Self‑driven professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.
- Strong understanding of rail asset lifecycle, O&M processes, and project management.
- Excellent coordination skills to work with design, construction, and operations teams.
