Assistant Boat Captain - Dive Center

About the role

Red Sea Sports & Entertainment (RSSE), a subsidiary of Red Sea Global, is hiring a Dive Center Boat Captain. This site-based role ensures the safe, efficient and professional operation of all dive center vessels, keeping them clean, well maintained and ready for operations while supporting dive activities and environmental stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and navigate dive center vessels safely and in full compliance with maritime regulations, and captain scheduled dive excursions.
• Prepare vessels daily for operations and keep their interior and exterior clean and presentable.
• Support the Dive Center Manager in day-to-day marine operations and assist with cylinder handling, equipment organization and general upkeep.
• Coordinate safe diver drop-offs and pick-ups, monitor weather and sea conditions, and maintain vessel logs, maintenance records and operational reports.
• Carry out routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of vessels and outboard engines, escalating issues as needed.
• Work with Sustainability and SEZ teams on environmental regulations and marine conservation, and support multi-site operations including remote work and site visits.
• Help set up marine assets before opening and build knowledge of local dive sites, routes and conditions.

Required profile

• Licensed or registered boat captain in Saudi Arabia.
• Proven experience in marine operations, ideally supporting diving or tourism, and experience working with divers.
• Previous hospitality or luxury tourism experience is an advantage.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends and peak seasons.

Required skills

• Spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting of boats and outboard engines; experience as a boat mechanic is desirable.
• Strong customer service mindset, situational awareness under pressure, teamwork and attention to detail.
