Assistant Pastry Chef

About the role

The Assistant Pastry Chef supports the head Pastry Chef in creating a wide range of pastries, breads, and desserts. Working in a fast‑paced kitchen, you will help ensure every product meets the highest standards of taste, appearance, and food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare doughs, batters, fillings and toppings according to recipes.
• Assist in baking, decorating and assembling desserts under the Pastry Chef’s guidance.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately, following standardised procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and equipment.
• Store and label ingredients and finished products properly.
• Follow hygiene, safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
• Support inventory control and report any shortages of supplies.
• Help with daily production tasks and special orders as required.
• Ensure consistency and quality across all pastry items.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and holidays.
