Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Construction

About the role

Join ALEC Holdings, a leading GCC construction group, as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. You will support the commercial team in delivering high‑end interior projects across hospitality, retail and commercial sectors, ensuring accurate cost control and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare project start‑up forms and insurance documentation.
• Assist in preparing insurance claims and notifications for delays, loss and expenses.
• Support the development of delay/disruption claims (time and cost).
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and quantity take‑offs from drawings.
• Measure site progress and help prepare payment applications.
• Maintain and verify site asset registers.
• Assist in compiling monthly progress applications for the client.
• Review subcontractor payment applications and related documentation.
• Support preparation of payments and contra charges.
• Contribute to monthly cost reporting and documentation.
• Promote effective communication within the commercial team.
• Uphold ALEC’s professional image at all times.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Knowledge of project cost control, quantity take‑offs and delay/claims management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors and site teams.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
