Assistant Store Manager

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in delivering an excellent customer experience and smooth daily operations. This role involves overseeing staff, driving sales, managing inventory, and ensuring the store meets its performance targets. The Assistant Store Manager steps in to lead the store in the manager’s absence.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a high standard of customer focus, lead by example, and actively pursue sales targets.
• Audit store administration, resolve issues, and implement procedural changes.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to set and monitor KPIs, analyze performance, and execute sales strategies.
• Oversee inventory control, conduct regular stock checks, and ensure visual merchandising aligns with brand standards.
• Manage staff schedules, address employee concerns, provide performance feedback, and enforce dress‑code and company image standards.
• Ensure security procedures are followed, safeguarding stock and cash.
• Carry out corrective actions or progressive discipline when required, and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.
