Assistant Surveyor – Field Survey Support

About the role

The Assistant Surveyor will support field survey activities on construction sites, taking measurements, recording data and preparing survey notes for review. Working under the guidance of the survey lead, you will help set out and verify layout points, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and traceable.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with leveling, distance and angle measurements on‑site.
• Support the setting‑out of construction layout points as directed.
• Maintain control point records and perform basic equipment checks.
• Compile measurement results and drawing inputs for project documentation.
• Perform routine calculations, data handling and flag any discrepancies for escalation.
• Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and survey quality standards.

Required profile

• Diploma‑level education in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with basic field surveying practices and setting‑out support.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to keep accurate field logs.
• Good communication skills for coordination with site personnel.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards.
