Back-End Software Engineer

About the role

Masterworks is seeking a skilled Back-End Software Engineer to join its development team. You will design, build, and maintain high‑performance server‑side applications, ensuring fast and reliable responses for front‑end users. The role involves close collaboration with front‑end developers and other stakeholders to deliver robust business logic and scalable services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain high‑performance backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs and backend architectures.
• Collaborate with ReactJS front‑end developers to integrate APIs and services.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Manage data storage with SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring secure and efficient access.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to improve system performance.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging backend technologies and trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
