Backend Software Developer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Developer to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while delivering scalable backend solutions for high‑impact products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using modern coding standards and architecture.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Java, Python or JavaScript.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise system performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript).
• Experience with relevant software development frameworks and libraries.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to write optimized, scalable code.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across time zones.
