Biomedical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer – Biomedical ensures the safe, effective and reliable maintenance of biomedical and clinical equipment and supports broader facilities maintenance across KAUST's community infrastructure. The role audits, monitors and verifies the work of service providers so that technical, contractual and safety standards are fully met. It covers preventive and corrective maintenance and contributes to long-term asset lifecycle management.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure effective and safe preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance of biomedical and facility assets
• Monitor maintenance activities against KAUST standards, safety protocols, SOPs and KPIs
• Carry out audits, inspections and technical reviews to verify service quality and compliance with JCI, SFDA, CBAHI/SBAHI, IEC and HTM standards
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions
• Oversee calibration, maintenance and performance verification of biomedical equipment in the community medical facility
• Maintain accurate asset data in the CMMS (SAP/Maximo) and support lifecycle planning and preventive maintenance strategies
• Coordinate with stakeholders and report regularly with recommendations to improve service quality and asset reliability

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 4-6 years of experience maintaining biomedical systems and general facilities equipment
• Proven track record in contractor management, inspections, audits and performance monitoring
• Experience complying with international and local regulations such as JCI, CBAHI/SBAHI, SFDA, IEC 60601 and HTM
• CMRP preferred; BMET certification preferred
