BMS & ELV Engineer

About the role

Awtad is looking for a BMS & ELV Engineer in Riyadh. The engineer operates, configures and optimizes the company's Building Management System (BMS) based on Johnson Controls technology (Metasys or FX) and its integrated subsystems, ensuring the reliability of HVAC, lighting, fire alarm, access control and energy metering systems. The role also leads system improvements, integrations and vendor coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, configure and maintain the Johnson Controls BMS to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
• Monitor alarms, graphics, logic sequences and trend logs.
• Integrate and maintain connections with HVAC, lighting, fire alarm, access control and energy systems.
• Plan and implement upgrades, enhancements and network reliability improvements.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and communication issues.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and keep backups and documentation up to date.
• Lead technical reviews and support commissioning of BMS-related works.
• Evaluate vendor submittals, as-built drawings and compliance with company standards.
• Analyze data and trends to find performance issues and energy optimization opportunities.
• Prepare technical reports and KPIs, and train maintenance and operations teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Control Systems Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Building Management Systems with direct Johnson Controls expertise.
• Certification in Johnson Controls Metasys or an equivalent BMS platform (preferred).
• Excellent English; Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• BMS configuration, programming, troubleshooting and optimization.
• Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, fire and metering integration.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, KNX and OPC.
• Proficiency with Metasys UI, SCADA or CAFM platforms, and Excel or Power BI.
