BMS / SCADA Specialist - Data Center

About the role

SGS, a global testing, inspection and certification company, is looking for a BMS / SCADA Specialist to work on data center and mission-critical projects in KSA. The specialist leads BMS and SCADA activities across the full project lifecycle, from design review and configuration through testing, commissioning and handover, working closely with MEP, commissioning, IT and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate BMS / SCADA architecture, points lists, network topology, control schematics, sequences of operation and graphics against project requirements and data center best practices.
• Configure, program, test and troubleshoot BMS and SCADA systems, including controllers, servers, field devices, HMIs, databases and alarm management systems.
• Integrate BMS and SCADA with electrical (UPS, generators, switchgear, power meters), mechanical (HVAC, chillers, CRAH/CRAC), fire alarm, DCIM and third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, SNMP and OPC.
• Take part in Integrated Systems Testing (IST) to validate control logic, alarms, interlocks, failover, redundancy and operational sequences.
• Coordinate with commissioning managers, MEP engineers, vendors, OEMs, IT/network teams, contractors and clients, and witness FAT, SAT and site testing.
• Maintain documentation such as configuration records, test results, alarm matrices, trend logs, backups and sign-off documents, and ensure compliance with project specs, international standards, cybersecurity practices and KSA regulations.
• Monitor HSE requirements during testing and commissioning, and support O&M manuals, operator training, demonstrations and handover to operations teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems or a related discipline.
• 7-10 years of experience in BMS / SCADA systems; 3-5+ years on data center or mission-critical projects preferred.
• Strong hands-on experience with BMS and SCADA platforms (Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, ABB, Rockwell).
• Ability to read and interpret control drawings, network diagrams and sequences of operation.
