Business Development Manager – Ethylene Technology

About the role

Lummus Technology is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth of its technology portfolio in the global ethylene industry. You will act as the commercial bridge between Lummus and prospective clients, shaping licensing and engineering agreements while fostering long‑term relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities, lead sales and pricing strategy, and conduct business risk analysis.
• Serve as the primary commercial liaison with prospective clients and maintain ongoing contact with key representatives.
• Negotiate licensing, engineering, and catalyst agreements and ensure contract terms are met.
• Collaborate across internal functions to obtain approvals and keep awarded projects on track.
• Conduct market research, sales forecasting, competitive intelligence, and provide feedback to technology managers.
• Work with regional sales teams and other business groups to define sales strategies and staffing for proposals.
• Prepare commercial offers, deliver client presentations, and manage the sales database.
• Coordinate proposal risk analysis and present reviews to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related field (MBA a plus).
• Minimum ten years of experience in process design, technology marketing, and licensing sales in an international environment.
• Strong background in at least one relevant technology and proven contract negotiation experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly self‑motivated, energetic, and able to earn the respect of cross‑functional teams.
