Buyer – Global Procurement Central Services

About the role

Amazon Thunder is seeking a Buyer for Global Procurement Central Services (GPCS) to support a cluster of Fulfilment Centres in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on managing non‑inventory packaging supplies, ensuring a constant flow of goods at the best overall value and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily forecasts and materials management for non‑inventory packaging supplies.
• Create purchase orders based on forecasts and internal requests.
• Liaise with suppliers to secure prompt deliveries and manage truck delivery schedules.
• Develop relationships with internal customers, external suppliers, and other Amazon teams.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon’s Spending and Transaction Policy.
• Coordinate delivery time slots and communicate schedules to local FC teams.
• Act as escalation point of contact to guarantee off‑loading within agreed timelines.
• Collaborate with Operations and SPO to mitigate space constraints.
• Manage and reduce invoices on hold (IOH) requests.
• Support continuous improvement projects for shipping supplies processes.
• Provide training and support to other cluster buyers as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month experience in procurement or related functions.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 5% of time).
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under Amazon’s Spending and Transaction Policy.
• Analytical mindset for forecasting, invoice management, and process improvement.
