Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

Air Products is seeking a proactive Buyer to support its operations in Jubail. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you will act as the primary purchasing agent, negotiating contracts and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services needed for daily plant activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop purchasing strategies and monitor buying trends to maintain profitability.
• Research product availability, costs and benefits to select optimal combinations of quality, price and delivery.
• Negotiate policies, contracts and terms with suppliers, and manage delivery compliance.
• Maintain accurate stock levels, verify purchase requisitions and keep detailed procurement records.
• Visit supplier plants and conduct vendor interviews to stay informed on industry advancements.
• Coordinate with internal departments, providing technical and commercial assistance to improve product knowledge.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, logistics or commercial roles.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Engineering or a technical discipline.
• Proficiency in English (reading and writing) and strong knowledge of the Saudi market suppliers.
• Ability to work independently, manage schedules and update ERP systems.

Required skills

• SAP ERP system proficiency.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Effective Internet research for supplier evaluation.
• Knowledge of Saudi market vendors and suppliers.
• Strong analytical and detail‑oriented approach.
