Cable Technician III – Artificial Lift

About the role

The Cable Technician III – Artificial Lift is responsible for receiving, testing, preparing and repairing downhole cable used on submersible pumps and motor equipment. Working under general supervision, the technician ensures that all cable assemblies meet functional and safety standards before they are deployed in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Receive cable shipments from the field or manufacturers and conduct functional tests.
• Perform grounding tests, locate faults, and execute necessary repairs.
• Splice additional cable on motor leads and integrate it with surface cable as required.
• Maintain weekly inventory of all yard cable and complete associated paperwork.
• Train and coach new hires on basic cable handling and safety procedures.
• Promote safety awareness, environmental compliance, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of experience with cable testing, repair, or related field work.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Basic reading, writing and computer proficiency.
