Captain – Lebanese Restaurant

About the role

The Captain leads the service team in a Lebanese restaurant located in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the Restaurant Supervisor or Manager, the Captain ensures courteous, professional, and efficient service that aligns with hotel standards and Kempinski values, driving guest satisfaction and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise Waiter/Waitress and Host/Hostess staff, ensuring punctuality, proper uniform, and high personal hygiene.
• Deliver courteous and efficient service, handling guest enquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all food and beverage items, upsell menu offerings, and suggest alternatives.
• Monitor supplies, equipment, and reduce waste; conduct opening and closing procedures.
• Operate the POS system according to training and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area at all times.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and inventory checks.
• Support the department’s profit and loss understanding and act as a role model for the team.

Required profile

• Consistent punctuality and adherence to dress code and grooming standards.
• Strong communication skills for guest interaction and team coordination.
• Ability to handle guest complaints with professionalism and follow‑up.
• Knowledge of hotel policies on fire safety, hygiene, health, and safety.
• Positive attitude, self‑control, and willingness to undertake secondary duties.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating a POS (Point‑of‑Sale) system.
