Captive Business Development Manager / Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our Captive Insurance Team. Based in Dubai or Riyadh, you will act as the key link between clients, brokers and internal specialists, driving new captive formation and growth across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and develop new captive business opportunities by prospecting insureds, brokers and advisors.
• Advise clients on captive suitability, business case economics and risk‑retention strategies in collaboration with actuarial, underwriting and broking teams.
• Prepare and present captive solution proposals, financing alternatives and strategic recommendations.
• Manage the end‑to‑end sales process, including RFPs, term sheets, negotiations and internal approvals.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, consultants, TPAs, reinsurers, captive managers and other market participants.
• Collaborate with global specialist teams (actuarial, claims, tax, legal) to ensure technical accuracy of deliverables.
• Support senior management in defining growth strategies, market positioning and pricing.
• Assist local domicile colleagues and consulting teams with onboarding and captive formation, including regulatory approval and documentation.

Required profile

• 5–10+ years of experience in insurance, captive consulting, broking, reinsurance or risk management.
• Direct experience in captive formation, renewal or advisory work.
• Advanced degree (MBA or master’s) or professional qualifications such as CPCU, ACII, ARe, CIRM or similar.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with ability to develop business cases and assess P&L impacts.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of captive insurance structures (pure, group, rent‑a‑captive, cell).
• Financial modelling and Excel proficiency.
• Understanding of underwriting, reinsurance, loss funding and claims analysis.
• Awareness of regulatory and tax considerations for captive domiciles.
